The music program of First
Presbyterian Church exists to provide music for the worship
services. In addition to the Kirk Choir, Winds for Worship, and
the Bell Choir, various soloists are used to enhance the music
offerings. Music in worship serves the two purposes of bringing
the congregation closer to God and God closer to the
congregation. We do this through a wide variety of musical
styles and forms, always seeking to hear God speaking through
the music.
Musical Ensembles
Kirk Choir

Directed by Norma Roddy, the Kirk
Choir is open to adults and high school youth. The choir sings
regularly on Sunday mornings during the 11:00 worship service.
Performing a wide variety of music from sacred classics to 21st
century idioms, the choir rehearses each Wednesday evening at
7:00. All singers are welcome.
Youth Ensemble
Open to those who are in Middle School through High School.
This ensemble performs diverse styles of music and participates
frequently in the worship services of the church. Rehearsals are
normally at 4:30PM on Wednesdays, but sometimes change depending
upon other activities being held at the church. Please call the
church office or Director of Music for rehearsal dates and
times.
Children’s Choirs
Although no formal children’s choir exists at this time, we
realize the importance of music in the lives of our children
here at FPC. Music is incorporated into the Sunday School time
and during the Wednesday night activities. The children
participate regularly during the services of the church. We
expect a complete music program for all ages in the near future!
Instrumental Ensembles and Hand
Bells
The use of orchestral instruments and hand bells are often used
to enhance the music of our worship services. Rehearsals for
these ensembles are TBA.
Church Organist

Our church organist is Carolyn
Faust.
